Geoff’s Review
Situated in the old (c19th) Raglan Old School Arts Centre, Raglan locals are offered Saturday and Sunday screenings of recent releases (with an art house/film society emphasis), every first and third week of each month.
When I first moved to the Waikato some 25 years ago, Raglan was a sleepy seaside town, with dusty general stores lining Bow Street. Several decades on, these have been replaced with cafes and up-market craft shops, catering for the local artist community, surfers in search of the renowned left-break at nearby Whale Bay, music festival patrons, holiday-makers, and day-trippers seeking river and surf swimming and really good fish-and-chips. It is an interesting and lively town, with a real nautical atmosphere.
